Marly van Bruchem

marlyI am a PhD Candidate at the Open University, where I do research on the dynamics of police-bystander conflicts. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution and Governance.

I have previously worked as a research assistant for the University of Amsterdam, where I coded videos of violent encounters, and did qualitative video analysis of violence in public spaces.

Currently I am also working as junior researcher at the NSCR, for a research project on guardians in Amsterdam who tried to prevent further unrest and riots after the curfew instalment in the Netherlands.
